Specialized Wound Care
Wound care is in-home care for patients with all types of difficult-to-heal wounds due to a chronic or acute illness. These may include treatment for surgical incisions, pressure sores, or skin ulcers. In these instances, wound care from specially trained nurses can make all the difference. A nurse will evaluate the wound and take a baseline digital photograph for examination by other wound-care specialists. Throughout the patient’s recovery, a nurse cares for the patient, and with permission, maintain a photographic record of the progress of the wound. Patient results will vary depending on the severity and type of wound.
